Hi, I’m Christina

As a therapist, I recognize the adaptive function of emotions and emphasize the importance of validating emotional experiences as a source of meaning, direction, and growth. In therapy, we will talk authentically and work toward self-awareness and wholehearted living.

You bring your life and relationship experiences and I bring my specialized training along with acceptance and compassion for who you are and where you are in life right now. Every family or client is unique and therefore I utilize different techniques and personalize your sessions based on your specific goals and needs. Even though you may be feeling stuck now, it does not have to be a permanent feeling. Psychotherapy can actually lead to functional and structural changes in our brains.

Finding a therapist you or your teen can be honest with and comfortable around is crucial to the therapeutic process, which is why I value authenticity and transparency in the therapy room; you are the expert on your life.

My choice to pursue a license in marriage and family therapy does not mean I only see families; it means I have been extensively trained to think systemically about relationships and understand how important they are to each person’s happiness, health, and well-being.

EDUCATION

I graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Science in Family Therapy at Texas Woman’s Univeristy after completing a dual bachelor of science degree in gerontology and psychology. I gained experience working with families, teens, and adults at UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Family Studies Counseling Center in Dallas TX before relocating to Austin, TX. I worked at Pediatric Psychotherapy Associates in Austin prior to moving to Dripping Springs and starting a private practice.

LICENSURE

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Texas.

The requirements in the state of Texas to become a licensed therapist are rigorous. After a person has completed both a Bachelors and a Masters degree, they must pass a national exam to qualify for licensing as a state licensed therapist. Next, the therapist must accumulate 3,000 hours of supervised experience, which takes a few years. After successful completion of those hours, the therapist is eligible to become a fully licensed LMFT.
